In our old house, our girls' room was a tiny narrow room just big enough for the loft bunkbed they slept in. But to brighten up the room, my husband agreed to let them paint a mural on two of the walls. And the girls choose to do a mural of the fairy tale "Snow White and Rose Red."

Notice the fish jumping out of the pond. He's the other enchanted prince.
I have to say I was inordinately fond of how the castle turned out. Actually, the whole mural was quite successful: the people who bought out house liked it so much they kept it up. It's still there, last I heard.
Next post: "The Homes of Snow White and Rose Red." I'll explain what it's all about in the next post...

What fun for your girls! And I love the dolls in the previous post. :o)
Wow! That is so pretty! My sisters were planning to do a painting on their wall. I should have them look at your for ideas. Did you first sketch on paper, then sketch on the wall, and have your daughters paint?
I continue to be impressed by your creativity with your children, they are amazingly artistic and very neat people to know because of your participating in activities like this with them!
So, would you be interested in helping me with a mural sometime?
How magical!!
PrincessInDisguise: hey, thanks for visiting! Yes, first we sketched it out on paper, then on the wall, and then we painted over it. At least I did. I don't think my girls did that much forethought. But paint is wonderfully forgiving if you are willing to wait for it to dry and then paint over it!
Kathryn - any time! Since you live right down the road...!
